“So what do you mean by doulaing the doula?”

To doula is to “be with woman”. It’s to witness their struggles, their victories, and their heart. To doula is to provide unbiased support in whatever form you can-whether that be education, emotional, or physical. We believe that doulas stand in need of this exact support.
— Kasaundra Trout

Our doula training is unique in that it provides 3 months of on-going support and mentorship.

The blessing of continuing mentorship is that it gives you an ear that will listen, a brain to pick and the encouragement to continue in your passion.

doula certification requirements.png

Why certification?

certified utah doula.png

Certification is a valuable part of the training process. It shows a dedication to your work and a commitment to a level of care. As of yet, there is no board setting a standard of practice for the doula world. Obstetricians and Gynecologists have ACOG, midwives have NARM, and nurses have ANA. While doulas are not healthcare providers, they do have a certain level of trust within their community and are an integral part of the birth team. The lack of a governing body in this case becomes a concern. That is why Utah Doulas and Company has taken the initiative to create a thorough doula training, an ongoing mentorship program, and a high standard of certification for our doula graduates.

Doulas who complete their certification process and earn the title of Certified Utah Doula will have the option to be listed on our statewide registry.

Our doula graduates who complete the certification process will receive an official Certified Utah Doula logo with their certificate.

Are you ready to do what it takes to turn your dream into a plan?

Don’t hesitate! Our training retreats only happen twice a year!

As your trainers, Sariah and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be taking this journey with you. Together we have a combined 10 years of doula experience, mentoring, and teaching between us. Please reach out to us if you have any questions!
We believe in you.
Be bold.
