Rotating doula call.
Get ready for the new doula service that's about to rock the doula world.
This is for those clients who would like the support of a doula but, much like an OB's office, don't mind knowing their chosen doula will be whomever is on-call.
Allowing our doulas to plan for shorter on-call bursts gives us the opportunity to offer services at a lower cost to a larger group of clientele. This package includes:
*Group prenatals held in Salt Lake & Utah County. These prenatals will be led by Your Utah Doulas owner, Kasaundra Trout. We will go over birth plans, fears, questions, comfort measures, postpartum, and what to expect with hiring a doula. Couples may attend up to 2 group prenatals and must RSVP in advance.
*Private facebook group where you can chat, ask questions, and connect with the agency doulas and other birthing families.
*Access to the agency phone line for urgent communications.
*Monthly Meet the Team events where you can meet your on-call doulas.
*The continuous support of a doula at your birth and up to one hour postpartum.
*One optional postpartum phone call from the doula who attended your labor.
*Access to our birth, postpartum, and newborn plans.
*Access to our exclusive lending library.
We know this isn't the answer for everyone, but that's ok. Our goal as birth professionals is to provide options. If this sounds like something that might work for you, give us a call today!
And for any doulas out there reading this: If this applies to your county and it sounds like something you'd like to be a part of, please reach out to us! We are always looking for backups.
We know that motherhood is a brave new world. It wasn't until the last few decades that our culture shifted to place the burden of this transition on each individual woman. Alone.
For me, this was the hardest part of becoming a new mom. Being half-Latina meant I was exposed to the other side of things-where the flood of family invades the home, bathes the children, cooks the food, and pampers the new mother. I remember the resentment I felt when I realized that that swarm of loving family was two states away and I would be fending for myself.
With newborn twins.
That experience and the postpartum experience with my subsequent babies left a dramatic impression on me.
That's why our tagline is "We bring the village to you." Because when the baby isn't sleeping, your hormones are in a state of flux, and all the laundry is covered in spit up, just showing up is half the battle.
Knowing this, we've worked to create a network of support for our community. Everyone deserves that invading swarm of family. And if you weren't lucky enough to find yourself born into one, allow me to remind you that family can become the people in your day to day life who do the work of showing up for you.
